Kurtz oversees the cotton production research program leading a team of six scientists who develop innovative, problem-solving research to increase the profitability and sustainability of cotton farming in the U.S. cotton industry.
Kurtz joined Cotton Incorporated in 2012 developing and administering an entomology research program aimed at improving production efficiency and profitability as well as reducing cotton’s environmental impact. Kurtz created and served as content director for Cotton Cultivated a resource for Cotton Incorporated’s agriculture research and data trends. Dr. Kurtz received his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Pest Management from Mississippi State University and his Ph.D. in Entomology at N.C. State University.
